MUSICAL NUMBERS CUT FROM THE SHOW BEFORE LONDON
'The Robber's Chorus'
Originally this followed 'Till Now' and was sung by 'The Robbers'
(the male ensemble). It was cut as a separate number before London,
but parts of it were incorporated into 'Till Now' for the male
ensemble
'On The Tip of My Tongue'
This solo for Carol was heard at Cheltenham but was replaced
by 'Please Aunt Harriet'
'Different This Time'
This Act II song for Mark was in the first production of the
show but was subsequently cut. The melody was used again for
'Advice For Women' in Vanity Fair
'We Three'
This trio for George, Dud and Ed occupied the place in the show
ultimately taken by 'There's A Place We Know'
'Man on the Hill'
The distaff version of the show's main song, this was originally
sung by Carol following 'The Days Go By'
'Say Something Interesting'
Heard at Cheltenham, this song for Stephen, Mrs Birdview and
Guests was subsequently replaced with 'Mrs Birdview's Minuet'
In the London programme 'Red Or White' is given as 'Red And
White'
In the London programme 'You Can't Take Any Luggage' is listed
as 'Saturday Night'
'The Days Gone By' is listed at Cheltenham as a solo for Mark
The LP places 'This Man Loves You' after the duet for Carol
and Mark 'When You're Not There', as was the order in London.
The pre-London tour programmes list 'When You're Not There' as
the final song, after 'This Man Loves You'. >>> |
