Who's who on the BMT web site?

Adrian Wright has had a life-long obsession with the British musical theatre. He remembers standing outside the Vaudeville Theatre in 1960, looking up at the photographs of Follow That Girl. He was 12, hadn't any money and couldn't get in. He is the author of six books, the most recent being Foreign Country: the life of L. P. Hartley, and a biography of the writer John Lehmann, A Pagan Adventure. He reviews books for various journals, and is a contributor to the New Dictionary of National Biography. He is currently preparing a book on British and American musical theatre recordings.

John Knowles has been involved in amateur theatre and musical performance all his life. He saw his first show at The Palace Theatre, Walthamstow (Goldilocks and The Three Bears) at the age of 5 and fell in love with the theatre. He has a lifelong passion for theatre, music and film and is the Secretary of The Noel Coward Society and the web author of the 'British Musical Theatre', 'Noel Coward Society' and 'National Drama' sites. He is currently researching the life of Ned Lathom (3rd Earl of Lathom), playwright, raconteur and theatre 'angel' who was Noel Coward's first patron.
